What is JAM 2014
Joint Admission Test for M. Sc or JAM
is an all India Entrance Examination unitedly conducted by Indian
Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and eleven Indian Institute of
Technology (IIT) for admission to various higher education programme
in the stream of Science in these top ranking institutes. The courses
includes Integrated Ph.D degree programmes at IISc, Bangalore and Two
year M.Sc, Joint M.Sc - Ph.D, M.Sc – Ph.D dual degree programmes at
the eleven IITs. Each year one institute takes the responsibility of
organizing the Examination and as we have said, for the year 2014 the
institute is IIT, Kanpur.

Eligibility for JAM 2014
The qualification required to be
eligible for appearing in the Entrance Examination is a Bachelor
Degree in Science. Candidates who are appearing in the final
Examination of the qualifying degree can also apply for the Joint
Admission Test. For admission in IISc, Bangalore a candidate must
obtain first class marks in the qualifying examination. However, in
case of SC and ST category, candidates obtaining second class marks
or 50% aggregate marks can appear in the same. For admission in IITs,
a general or OBC candidate must have obtained 55% aggregate marks and
a SC or ST candidate must have obtained 50% marks or equivalent
grades to be eligible for the Test.

The online registration process will
start from 16th September, 2013 to 16th

The JAM 2014 will be held on 9th
February, 2014.
