Common Admission Test (CAT) is an
entrance examination jointly conducted by Indian Institutes of
Management (IIMs) for admission to IIM for various management
courses. The notice of CAT 2013 has already been published. Common
Admission Test, CAT 2013 will be conducted during a twenty days
testing window between 16th October, 2013 and 11th
November, 2013. A candidates can appear only once during the 20 days

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must qualify a bachelor's
degree with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for candidates belonging to
reserved category) or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University or
institution. Candidates having B.E. Or B.Tech degree or any
equivalent qualification recognized by Association of Indian
Universities New Delhi are also eligible to apply for the admission
test.
Reservations
According to the Government rules,
seats will be reserved as per the table given below-
- SC 15%
- ST 7.5%
- OBC 27%
- Differently Abled (DA) 3%
Registration for CAT 2013
The registration process for CAT 2013
has already been started from 5th of August, 2013 and will
be continued till 26th September, 2013. The registration
process includes two steps- purchase of Vouchers and
Registration. The Vouchers can be obtained directly from the website
http://www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in
or through Axis Bank Branches. For the list of Axis Bank branches you
can checkthis link. The Voucher must be bought in the name of the
candidate. The price of the Voucher is Rs. 16,000/- (Rs. 800/- for
SC, ST, PWD and DA candidates). Now, the Second step starts-
Registration. During registration process, you will be allowed to
create a profile, fill the CAT application and after that you have to
schedule your test. Everything is done, to start registration you may
log on to https://iim.prometric.com.
Admission Process
Each IIM publishes
independent list of short listed candidates. Final selection may be
made on the basis of a Written Ability Test (WAT) followed by Group
Discussions and Personal Interviews. For the purpose of ranking of
the candidates, IIMs may use previous academic performance or other
experience in addition to the CAT performance.
CAT 2013 Result and Short-listing
The result of CAT 2013
will be declared on 14th
January, 2013. The result will be announced through the official
website. Validity of CAT 2013 score card will remain till 31st
of December, 2014.
