National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Scholarship, 2016-17 for Class 10 Students

National Talent Search Examination is conducted by NCRT every year for selecting students for the NTS Scholarship. The examination is held in state level. Applications are invited from the students studying in class 10 standard for the state level NTS Examination for the session 2013-14. Scholarship will be awarded as per NTS rule. 15%, 7.5% and 3% scholarship will be reserved for SC, ST and PH category students respectively. Amount of Scholarship

The amount of the scholarship is Rs. 1250/- per month for class 11 to 12. 
Scholarship of Rs. 2000 per month for UG and PG.
Amount for Ph.D will be fixed as per UGC norms.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility condition required to appear in the state level examination is that candidate must be a student of class 10 standard studying in a Government, Provincialised, local body, Govt. Aided or private schools.

Selection Procedure

Students will be selected on the basis of two written examinations. First Examination will be conducted by state and successful candidates in state level examination, will have to appear in the Second Examination to be conducted by NCERT. Those who will be able to qualify in the second phase, will be selected for the scholarship.
To be qualified, the minimum marks to be carried by a general category student is 40% in each paper while same for SC, ST and PH is 32%.
