National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship 2016-17 for Class VIII Students


National Merit Cum-Scholarship (NMMS) is awarded to those students studying in Class VIII who are from economically background family. The Scholarship will be continued till the student completed his/her Higher Secondary, that is class XII. Thus, the Scholarship will be served for four years. The amount of the Scholarship is Rs. 500/- per month i.e. Rs. 6000/- per annum. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the session 2016-17 for the Scholarship scheme. Candidates will be selected through a written test which is known as National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship Examination. Terms & Conditions

  • Students must be from Government School, Provincialised, local body School or Govt. Aided School.
  • The annual income of Parents or Guardian should not be more than Rs. 1.5 lacs.
  • The applying students must have obtained at least 55% marks in Class VII final examination.

How to Apply

Application Form for NMMS Examination can be obtained from the inspector of School of the respective districts during office hours i.e. from 10 am to 5 pm. Candidates may also prefer online mode of application through the website An amount of Rs. 150/- (for SC/ST Rs. 100/-) must have to be submitted as Examination fee in the following Bank Account and Payment receipt should be enclosed along with the Application Form.

In case application is made through online mode, candidates have to submit the fee at any branch of SBI by means of the e-challan generated while filling up online application.
Last date of submission of fee in banks is 5th October, 2016.
